We meet every Monday morning at 9.30-10 in the Lounge.
We start with a time of silence/ private prayer.
We then pray for the world, the local community and members of the church. There is an opportunity to pray on specific subjects.
“A time of friendship and refreshment, exploring God’s word in a relaxed environment”
Food 4 Thought is a “housegroup/homegroup” that has been meeting on church premises since its inception in 2017. We meet on the second Tuesday of the month from 7.30 pm to around 9 pm. We meet in the church lounge, normally starting with refreshments. Our aim is to look at the relevance of the Bible in today’s world. Together we can question and discuss anything – we won’t have all the answers – but we CAN explore the possibilities!
There isn’t an exact format, but we generally begin with a period of discussion and exploration on a subject, hopefully not too heavy, and then open it up for a more general discussion, which can take us almost anywhere! We think we can say that almost without exception, all who attend feel at home enough to join in, for which we are truly grateful!
We have covered such things as straightforward bible studies like Jonah, Esther and with the aid of a DVD, the Gospel of Mark. We have looked at “The Fruit of the Spirit”, “Handel’s Messiah”, people's favourite Psalms, “The New Testament you never knew” DVD with Nigel Wright, a specially produced Easter Film from “Open Doors” and, most recently, “The relevance of 10 Commandments in today’s world” with J.John’s just10 series.
We would like to think we are a welcoming group, so if you are interested, please do speak to Nigel or Jacquie Galton, or just turn up on the second Tuesday of the month. You will be assured of a warm welcome. Whilst we try and have an overall theme for a set number of months at a time, each evening stands on its own, so it is never too late to join us.s.
The Thursday service is an informal worship time, especially for those who cannot attend a Sunday service at Trinity. We have a short address, prayers and Bible reading followed by the chance to chat over tea and biscuits.
Trinity Prayer Vine is a confidential prayer request facility where anyone in need of prayer can ask for it, knowing that it will be kept confidential just to the people who have committed to pray and who have agreed to abide by the principles laid out here.
If you have a concern for which you would like prayer, please feel free to contact the facilitators by e-mail or phone.
Likewise, if you feel called to join the prayer team - we are not a specialised group of super-spiritual pray-ers, just ordinary people who believe in the power of prayer - and if you are happy to commit to pray as needed, agreeing to keep any requests confidential, between God and yourself only, please make yourselves known to Nigel and Jacquie.
